About
The Tierra del Fuego Nordic Ski Festival (click on the "Skifire" logo for information) marks the first time that the nordic resouces in Tierra del Fuego have come together in order to offer a single body of cross-country skiing services. From July 30th to August 18th, the Club Andino Ushuaia will groom 12km daily at the Francisco Jerman and Nunatak Adventure/Tierra Mayor Centro Invernal will groom 30km daily in the Valley of Tierra Mayor using its new Pisten Bully 100.
The result is simple: Just get to the southernmost city in the world, strap 'em on, and stride or glide groomed snow on real terrain all you want for 20 days in the middle of the austral winter at the foot of the Patagonian Andes.
Need a break? Hit Cerro Castor for some downhill skiing at the world's southermost alpine resort, visit the Tierra del Fuego National Park, take a day cruise in the Beagle Channel, or drink some Argentine wine with a meal of Argentine beef (they have other food too)!
Mateo is a spouse, father, and avid nordic skier living in Boulder, Colorado. He has a MA in Spanish Linguistics but that doesn't stop his Argentine friends from making fun of him in their incomprehensible, local dialect.

Testimonials
"Shoot, I've been three times and I just plan on going every year." Joe F., Arizona
"Last August we spent nine days in Ushuaia with Skifire. It was a pleasurable experience from the moment Mateo met us at the airport. The skiing was good, the accommodations were nice and the people we met were warm and friendly. Mateo was a most attentive "guide" and a very pleasant trip companion. We even had the opportunity to race in the Marchablanca. We would unquestionably recommend the trip to anyone interested in skiing in August and experienceing a different and interesting culture." Gary and Angelica di Silvestri
